A former pupil at St Cecilia’s High School in Longridge has been asked to support legendary rock and rollers Chas and Dave at the Cavern in Liverpool.
Singer songwriter Karl Eland who says he was more pre-occupied with football than music at St Cecilia’s has been asked to support the cult cockney due next Thursday September 7th. And he is to open the evening with his own brand of rock music.
He says: ‘I am extremely pleased to be supporting Chas and Dave. They have played all over the world and have been going now for over 40 years.
‘It will be great to get the exposure of playing to a big crowd
‘It is impossible to have a bad gig at the Cavern because you can feel the history of all the acts that have passed through there.
‘There is definitely something special about the place and playing to a large crowd there like Chas and Dave will bring, will be amazing.’
Karl has been writing and performing for about 5 years and released his debut single Radio Song in July this year.
Influenced by classic artists such as Tom Petty and U2 he has played many gigs across Lancashire, Manchester and Liverpool, he has a strong local fan base and army of supporters he hopes will be at the Cavern gig and through Myspace music he can be heard all over the world.
